Roadmap to your Recording

If you have a recording inquiry, please feel free to send an email in English or German to:
I will be happy to send you a non-binding offer and – if necessary – assist you in finding the best recording venue for your project.
Since my recordings usually take place in selected concert halls and churches, I use my own mobile recording equipment. For productions outside of continental Europe, the additional local rental of audio equipment is sometimes economically more reasonable. We can decide this together from case to case.
If you need help in finding a label for your project, I will also be happy to point you in the right direction.
I look foward to talking to you about your project!
Frequently Asked Questions
I am a pianist, and I would like to work with you. Do you have specific rooms and instruments that you recommend?
Yes, I have a list with venues that I can recommend for piano solo recordings that have good instruments and good piano technicians. I would always recommend testing the grand pianos beforehand and to plan an extra journey for this. As a general rule, I would discourage using rental grand pianos for solo recordings (with very few exceptions), because the instruments need time to adapt to the climatic conditions of the recording room. Also, depending on the previous usage of the specific rental instrument, it might not arrive in an optimal condition to start with.
I would like to ask if you could mix and/or master my recording
I am afraid that I do not accept mixing jobs. The sound of a recording is mostly created in front of the microphones and is therefore highly dependant on the process and the communication during the production. Recorded sound also depends highly on microphone placement. For both reasons, I do not offer mixing or mastering for projects that I did not record myself.
I have a preferred recording room or instrument. However, it is situated in [a place far away]. Could you still come here and record with me?
Absolutely. So far, I have recorded in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belgium, Turkey, Sweden, South Korea and Iceland. Of course, there probably will be additional travel costs, but it is very possible. If you have a location where you feel at home, it will most likely show in your performance. And in the end, that’s all that matters.
